Spotlight: Lively Liverpool

Spotlight: Lively Liverpool

As we approach warmer weather, the weekend city breaks only become more appealing! Now, as we know London is the biggest, and probably most visited city in the UK. But let us not forget other incredible cities! Why not venture out and take a trip to Liverpool, it's great for Family Fun but also good for couples who like good bars and a historic music scene, a day out spent making memories with family or friends is more precious to some people than the latest technology, so why not incentivise these city breaks? People love a getaway!

1.Beatles Story
This unique experience will transport you on a journey and show you the history of how four lads from Liverpool reached the great heights of fame and fortune. The Beatles Story has scenic replicas of places like the Casbah, Mathew Street and The Cavern – which perfectly capture the 60's era. The exhibition is placed at Albert Dock on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have a day going from behind the scenes at Abbey Road to bobbing along in the Yellow Submarine. Don't forget to buy your merchandise on the way out at the Fab 4 Store.

2. Albert Docks
This picturesque destination should be on everyone's list when they visit Liverpool. The dock opened in 1846 for sailing ships but closed in 1972. Now it's home to iconic architecture of the buildings that surround it, it's also home to an artsy and thriving music culture, museums, shop, bars and restaurants. Whilst there you should visit the British Music Experience which is on the Pier Head, it's a museum dedicated to British music, you can walk through history with costumes from the Spice Girls, instruments from Oasis, performance and memorabilia from Adele. You can even try your hand at being a rock star by testing out the vocal booth.

3.Ghetto Golf
Great for couples or groups of friends! This venue offers a combination of a twisted 18 hole mini golf experience, with cocktails and DJ's included. Amongst the walls you will find graffiti and urban artwork – complete with a street food kitchen. Unfortunately, this is a strictly over 18's venue, so no children allowed on this occasion.

4. Cavern Club
The Cavern Club is one of Liverpool's top attractions. There are three venues, the Cavern Club, Cavern Live Lounge and the Cavern Pub which have not only showcased the legacy of the Beatles, but also help new bands and artists find their feet. In the Cavern Club, there is live music on every day until late into the night.

5. Football Stadium Tours
Whether you're red or blue there's a tour to suit both. Get your football head on and You'll Never Walk Alone with these fantastic football experiences. Get access to dressing rooms, the press box and even sit in the ground. We promise it won't be a Kop-out.
